2nd Study tour - Austria

we are pleased to invite you to a one-day study trip in Austria, which will be held on June 19th 2018 (Tuesday) within the framework of the implementation of the project "AgriShort - Establishment of short supply chains and competitive agricultural sector in the cross-border area through institutional co-operation".

During the study trip participants will have an opportunity to visit the farms and shops that are the example of good practices on the field of short food supply chains in the area of Fehring, Hatzendorf and Auersbach in Vulkanland, Austria.

Study trip is intended for agricultural producers and representatives of the civil and public sector from Koprivnica-Križevci County and Međimurje County (Croatia), as well as Zala County and Somogy County (Hungary). The organizer of the study trip is "PORA" Development Agency of Podravina and Prigorje for promotion and implementation of development activities in Koprivnica- Križevci County, and the trip is free for the participants.

Main goal of the study trip is the cooperation among institutions in order to establish short supply chains and a more competitive agricultural sector in the cross-border region.
"AgriShort" project was approved under the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020 Cooperation Programme. Lead Beneficiary of the project is REDEA - Regional Development Agency of Međimurje, while project partners are "PORA" KKŽ, LAG Zala Termalvölgye from Zalaszentgrót and LBDCA - Development Agency of the Balaton Region from Siófok. Through the implementation of the "AgriShort" project, education of public sector representatives, non-governmental organizations and agricultural producers on short supply chains will be implemented in order to provide support to the agricultural sector in an adequate manner through the establishment of short supply chains (KOL) in Koprivnica-Križevci and Međimurje County in Croatia, as well as Zala County and Somogy County in Hungary.

Programme of the study trip:

Austria – Vulkanland, June 19th 2018

10:00 Visit to a traditional oil mill in FEHRING with a mill shop selling products from
various producers. Presentation of the concept and the product line.

12:00 Lunch in a Styrian restaurant in Hatzendorf.

13:30 Meeting with initiators and personalities at the meeting place in Hatzendorf who will be reporting on their successful projects. Cooperations such as volcanic wheat will be presented. Presentation of Mr. Michael Fend on the strategy in the Styrian Volcano Land.

15:30 Visit to the Vulcano ham producer. During the tour, presentation about the tenacious path of the three Vulcano farmers, who have been producing tasty air-dried cured ham for about 15 years and tasting of the product line.

17:30 Departure to Croatia/Hungary
